Petite Plate Series
The Marie Antoinette Petite Series consists of four miniature plates, each a petite 5.5 inches.
The Petite Plate ‘Victorian Greene’ features a famous Victorian era etching inspired by Marie Antoinette, by an unknown artist. The portrait stays true to Marie Antoinette’s notorious hairstyle, but incorporates millinery and clothing from the Victorian period. A vintage brooch of violets made from precious stones and diamonds is incorporated into her headdress while distinctive private estate jewels float in the periphery.

The Petite Plate ‘Purple Damask’ features the infamous portrait of Marie Antoinette at age 13, by Swedish-Austrian painter, Martin Van Meytens, placed within the context of the Josef Kuba porcelain plate ‘Bavarian Fragonard Love Story’, circa 1930s, which depicts charming vignettes of lovers in various poses of courtship, inspired by the famous French painter Jean-Honore Fragonard (1732 – 1806). Classic botanical images of the pink flamingo make their appearance again as do two small gold busts of the Queen while vintage private estate jewelry floats on a rim of purple damask.

The Petite Plate ‘Monogram’ draws it’s name from much-loved Marie Antoinette Royal China pattern that serves as the background and features the Queen’s official golden Monogram. A small gold bust of the Queen and four vintage estate jewels add mystery to the traditional pattern.
